What Paint Correction Is & Why It Matters
Paint correction — some people call it buffing or cutting — is where we use a machine polisher (a rotary or dual-action) to remove a tiny percentage of the clear coat on your paint. It sounds dramatic, but those swirls and light scratches you can see only sit in the very top of the clear coat. By gently levelling that layer, we even everything out and the imperfections disappear.
As a rule of thumb, a single-stage correction removes around 60–70% of swirls and scratches, while a two-stage correction takes that to 90–95%. It also dramatically boosts the gloss and clears up any existing hazing. Honestly, if those imperfections don't bother you, you can absolutely get a coating without correction — just know it will semi-lock those marks in, so it's worth deciding before we start.
